I myself am an amateur theater producer since 2021. I&#8217;ve led or worked on four projects, increasing in size and scope every time, and I&#8217;ve seen how important it is to know your numbers. When you&#8217;re not sure how much you&#8217;ve spent in the past or how much you can expect to make in the future, you move haphazardly. You don&#8217;t think things through in a clear and confident way. Your decisions get worse, and it affects every other part of the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f5faffde\">My market focus is on arts business, arts education, and small theaters. I have worked in those environments, and I have a good sense of the value and difficulty of those businesses. I also just enjoy meeting and talking to arts and theater people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#f5faffde\">I learned double entry accounting, AR, AP, inventory, and other bookkeeping basics from the Intuit bookkeeping course. I also have a Quickbooks certification.
